20150823_194824In this recipe, I was trying to replicate the Peruvian dish lomo saltado, but I forgot to buy french fries.  Despite the lack of potato, the dish turned out great: savory and flavorful.


  • 1 pound beef cut into strips or chunks
  • 1 small onion cut into strips20150823_194805
  • 1 yellow  chili pepper (aji amarillo)
  • 1/2 bunch of parsley
  • 3 tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 T garlic
  • 20150823_194809 20150823_194858 1T white vinegar
  • 1T soy sauce
  • 1T Worcesterstire sauce

In a large skillet, brown the beef over medium heat.  Once the meat is browned remove from heat and transfer to a bowl.20150823_195403

In the same skillet, saute onions and garlic until onions are transparent.  Add parsley, tomato, salt, pepper, vinegar, soy sauce, and Worcesterstire sauce.  Stir and cover for 5 minutes.


Add beef back to skillet.  Stir to combine.  Cover and let simmer for 5 more minutes.  Serve with rice.
